The Best 4X4 Recovery Set

Whoops! It's been a while since our last (and first) post... sorry! Things have been busy at the shop.

We're shaking things up a bit by coming up with great offers online. Some of our bestsellers are 4X4 recovery gears, essentials for anyone who loves their vehicle and requirements when you regularly go offroad.

Your recovery gears WILL get you out of trouble should you get stuck in sand, snow or mud. Even when you feel that you still don't need it yet -- perhaps you have new tires or your vehicle is new -- you can never tell what you'd encounter on the road. It is necessary that you have a reliable set of gears stashed in the back.

Shovels are basic in your 4X4 recovery set. If you can't afford to buy anything else -- even though you should -- at least get a shovel. When you get stuck on the road, you can dig your way out with one.

Gloves are also essentials. Expect hard manual work should your 4X4 get stuck. There's going to be a lot of pulling, pushing and digging. You will need to protect your hands. Buy a good pair of gloves for this. Rigger's gloves are the best, especially those made of leather.

You will also need a jack for your 4X4 recovery set. However, the jack you use in your regular car won't do since you are likely to get in trouble off road. Check out exhaust jacks or high-lift ones. You can also make do with standard jacks as long as you have a wooden or metallic base plate as accessory.

Straps are also good to have in your kit. Used with shackles and with the help of another 4X4 or a winch, you can pull your vehicle out of being stuck. Make sure to get heavy duty ones that look like thick reinforced seat belts.

The last basic essential in your recovery kit is a winch. However, before you do anything with this (or before you even buy), make sure to study it first. Have your mechanic demonstrate proper use first. Winches can be dangerous if used incorrectly.

There, that's your 4X4 recovery set. You can check out the store for the best line of recovery gears and recovery sets: http://olmate4x4.com.au/product-category/recovery-gear/
